With the ability to take our smaller gimbal, the Shotover F1, as excess airline baggage when traveling, our tech Mike Isler flew to Argentina to assist in capturing this momentous occasion. Working with Productions Autrement Dit and Airbus Helicopters, along with local helicopter operator Helicopters.AR, we had a great team in place.

40 Years Of Lamborghini

One cold day in 2018, Steve Waldie of Interstate Motorsport had a vision of 4 Lamborghini’s racing down an air strip followed by helicopters to shoot something that has never been done. Steve’s first step was reaching out to his friend Jose Montanez from Gotham Films. Jose got the Shotover K1 ready with 3 red cameras mounted on it so he can capture this moment in a resolution better than Imax. This hammerhead camera rig is one of a kind and was perfect for this shoot.

Eminem VENOM Music Video on The Jimmy Kimmel Show

Two helicopters (both TwinStars) flew in close proximity to the Empire State Building as Eminem performed on multiple observation decks. One helicopter was equipped with a NightSun searchlight, and lit up the rapper as he performed. The second helicopter was equipped with our Shotover F1 stabilized gimbal with an ARRI camera installed, to capture the action.

Shotover HAMMERHEAD Array and 12K Aerial Filming

In December 2017, Gotham Films took delivery of its HAMMERHEAD. The Gotham HAMMERHEAD system is a modification to the Shotover K1 gimbal, making it possible to mount three RED DSMC2 or ARRI Alexa Mini cameras. Having three cameras aligned in an array makes possible incredibly high-resolution filming.
